Measuring 4.3 by 1.8 inches (HW), the main body is made entirely of plastic, unlike the larger LifeCam Studio's aluminum body, but it shares the same kind of easy-to-position, rubberized mount that works with desktop LCDs, older CRT monitors, and laptop screens. ![]() For the basics, the HD-3000 succeeds, though if your laptop already has one built-in, this webcam isn't enough of an upgrade. The $39.95 (direct) Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 attempts to deliver much of the same high-definition goodness as the LifeCam Studio ($99, 4 stars), but at less than half the price.
